You’re Engaged, Congratulations! Now on to the fun part of planning your big day. If you’ve been dreaming of a wedding venue set in beautiful English countryside in a sympathetically restored Grade II listed barn packed full of original features and rustic charm, you should definitely consider arranging a viewing of The Barns at Hunsbury Hill.
When approaching the venue, you will come through a 1980’s housing estate. Don’t let this put you off! The Barns is truly a hidden gem of a venue. As you enter our driveway be prepared to be surprised, it will give you the feeling of being out in the countryside with the benefit of being close to local hotels and various transport links.
Our Grounds and Bar
Here at The Barns we offer exclusive use of the venue and grounds for the entire day offering you flexibility to dress the venue and grounds to suit your own style. Our courtyard and gardens offer beautiful locations that your photographer will love you for, as well as pretty locations around the grounds for those intimate photos of the happy couple.
We have a fantastic, heated and covered, outside bar with a wide range of great value drinks, including Prosecco on tap! The bar will be open as soon as your ceremony finishes, or on arrival if you do not wish to hold a ceremony at the venue, until 11.30pm.
For the ceremony itself, our restored barn with exposed stonework and wooden beams makes a truly stunning backdrop, enhanced by your own choice of colours and décor. We are fully licensed for civil ceremonies and there is room for between 40 and 85 guests depending on your chosen layout meaning that your entire wedding can be held with us and you and your guests will not need to travel from your ceremony venue to your reception venue giving you more time for photographs, canapes and games if you wish.
We will set up the venue for your ceremony, including co-ordinating some of the finishing touches provided by either yourselves or your suppliers. Your suppliers and your friends and family members will have access to the venue from 9am on the day of your wedding to add any decorations and personal touches to make the day your own.
Whether you wish to hold a ceremony at the venue or would prefer a church ceremony, The Barns is a fantastic location to hold your wedding reception. Our staff will be responsible for setting up the High Barn for your wedding breakfast for up to 85 guests, including implementing your table plan and laying out your table decorations for you. You will have the opportunity to drop off some items to the venue the day before your wedding for safe keeping.
We have an excellent catering partner in Impressions Caterers who work as part of your wedding team and with you to provide a stunning bespoke menu for your special day. Whether that be a traditional four course meal or a more informal meal, they will be happy to discuss this with you and bring your ideas to life.
Who doesn’t like a good party? The venue looks stunning in the evening with twinkling fairy lights ready for your guests to dance the night away. With exclusive use of the venue, you can invite up to 180 guests to celebrate with you for the evening. After your wedding breakfast, we will clear the high barn leaving a few tables and chairs at one end of the venue with the dance floor area nearest to your entertainment provider.
